The Associated Credit Union Foundation began in 2009 and is a 501(c)3 organization that strives to promote the social and economic well-being for the community and the employees of companies served by Associated Credit Union. The ACUF has partnered with organizations in Metro Atlanta, Carrolton, and Augusta to help expand the services they provide to individuals and families in need. Since 2009, the ACUF has donated over $250,000 to its charitable partners.
The ACUF holds fundraisers for organizations in addition to its charitable partners. Over the years, the ACUF donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross toward its efforts to rebuild Haiti after the tragic earthquake, $20,000 to Wilderness Works to send homeless & disadvantage children to summer camp, donated $25,000 to support Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, raised $21,174 for Susan G. Komen Atlanta, $29,640 to fight Leukemia & Lymphoma Cancer, and donated $30,000 to the National Center for Civil Rights.
Beginning every November, the ACUF hosts its annual Making Caring Count at Christmas Program. In 2016 alone, employees and our members purchased presents to fulfill the gift wishes of over 2,000 children in Metro Atlanta. The program is in its ninth year.
In addition to fundraising, the ACUF promotes the importance of volunteering. Employees of Associated Credit Union are given a service day each year to donate time to a charity of their choice. Employees have volunteered with churches, local schools and other events.
